Before Breakfast는 ‘이상한 나라의 앨리스’의 속편인 루이스 캐럴의 '거울 나라의 앨리스(Through the Looking Glass)'에 나오는 인용구 “Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”의 오마주로 붙여진 이름입니다. Before Breakfast는 디자인 및 공예에 새로운 관점을 불러일으키고자 하며, 창의적인 업무환경을 제공하고 일상에 영감을 주는 정교한 문구류를 선보입니다.
문구는 세상에서 가장 작은 물건으로 구성되어 있지만, 펜과 종이의 가능성은 무궁무진합니다. Before Breakfast의 인쇄 및 제본 과정에는 전통적인 방식의 작은 기계가 사용됩니다. 또한 모든 재료는 품질과 지속가능성에 중점을 두며, 환경을 우선적으로 고려합니다. 인쇄용 잉크는 모두 콩으로부터 재료를 얻고, 재활용이 가능한 스탬프용 포일과 FSC® 인증을 받은 용지를 사용합니다. 최근 출시한 제품은 100% 재활용 용지로 제작되었습니다.
The name of the brand ‘Before Breakfast’ is a homage to the quote found in Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll, the sequel to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland: “Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” The aim is to bring a new perspective to design and craft through the use of sustainable materials and a responsible making process.
At Before Breakfast, small traditional machines are used for printing and book binding. The materials are carefully selected both on the basis of their quality as well as their sustainability, and the methods used to make Before Breakfast products are always done with the environment at the forefront of our minds. The ink used for printing is all soy based, and the foil for stamping is all recyclable and repulpable, as is also the case with the paper they use that is all FSC® certified. The paper for their latest products is made from 100% post-consumer waste paper.
