HAZE의 이름은 서로 다른 의미를 지닌 영어와 일본어의 동음이의어 ‘haze’를 의미합니다. 영어로는 ‘안개’ 또는 ‘아무것도 없는 것과 다름없다’라는 뜻을 지니며, 일본어로는 헤이즈 나무(Japanese wax tree)를 의미합니다.
HAZE에서는 과거의 전통을 기리는 동시에 밝은 미래를 지향합니다. 모든 와로소쿠 캔들은 밀랍을 순차적으로 덧대어 제작하는 일본의 전통기법인 테가케-세이호(Tegake-seiho)를 사용하여 수공예로 제작되었습니다. 천연 헤이즈 나무의 열매를 재료로 그을음이 거의 발생하지 않고, 강한 불꽃을 만들어내는 것이 특징입니다.
HAZE is a play on words, both the English word “haze” which means mist and “just as good as having nothing” and also the Japanese word “haze” which means wax tree.
Here at Haze we enjoy honoring past traditions while also looking towards a bright future. HAZE’s Warosoku candles are made using the ancient Japanese technique of “Tegake-seiho,” where wax is applied in sequential layers. Haze candles are made with it’s namesake fruit, haze, the fruit of the Japanese wax tree. This creates a powerful flame that produces very little soot.
